Invisalign

Imagine straighter teeth and a better bite pattern, without having to wear braces. It’s possible with the Invisalign system, which is so discreet, most people won’t even know you’re undergoing orthodontic treatment.

How Invisalign Works

Invisalign treatment involves using a series of clear, smooth, plastic aligners that fit comfortably over your teeth. They are swapped out every two weeks. Every aligner is custom made with precise designs, to steadily and gradually guide your teeth into ideal placement. Because they are customized specifically for your teeth, they remain comfortable and secure in your mouth. Your Invisalign system is crafted specifically for your Pure Orthodontics treatment plan, resulting in a straighter, more functional smile.

First introduced to the market in 1999, Invisalign was developed by an adult orthodontics patient who came up with the theory that if his dental retainer could make his teeth move in small increments, then a series of successive retainers could combine to effect large-scale repositioning of the teeth. Since then, Invisalign has proven to be a popular option for people seeking a discreet way to obtain a straighter smile.

Invisalign can be used to treat many orthodontic issues:

  • Overly crowded teeth
  • Widely spaced teeth
  • Crossbite
  • Overbite
  • Underbite

Treatment with Invisalign

The treatment plan starts with a consultation with Dr. Hussain, to determine if Invisalign is the best choice for your orthodontic needs. Then, xrays and impressions of the teeth are taken and sent to Invisalign, where they will be used to create a 3D digital image. From that point, a precise treatment plan and series of aligners are developed to guide your teeth into an optimal position.

Treatment with the Invisalign system is simple. You can remove them when eating, allowing you to continue to enjoy your favourite foods. When removed, they also allow you unimpeded access to your teeth when brushing or flossing, resulting in continued good oral health. The aligners can be cleaned using Invisalign cleaner, or can simply be brushed and rinsed. For best results, the aligners should be worn at least 22 hours every day. Removing them for long periods will extend the amount of time needed for treatment. If participating in sports where protective mouth gear is required, simply remove the Invisalign aligner, store it safely, and then re-insert it as soon as possible.
